Flashing lights! Incredible tips! Can nothing go wrong in the Cam world?

I have been in the cam community for over a decade and have seen my fair share of opportunities the industry provides. With the high highs and the low lows, it’s difficult to know what to look out for as a new cam performer.

Here are some of the frequent situations I’ve seen many models in (myself included) that should avoided when you start performing!

1.) Money Tunnel Vision

It’s easy to get swept up in the money aspect of camming. There are days when you are drowning in tips and it’s important to know that these days will not always happen. There are some months where obtaining high-paying days feels impossible.

Cam performing is not a job where the same income is promised. There will be days when there is no income, days when you don’t feel up to performing and days when you might be sick or unable to perform.

If you are only in this industry for the money and don’t truly enjoy what you are doing to some extent the slow days will hurt your emotional and sexual health.

Enjoying aspects of what you do for a living is essential for personal fulfillment and health. Loving parts of your job will help during those days when you’ve felt as though you’ve done everything you can but aren’t meeting goals. Only camming for income also becomes detrimental to your sexual confidence, something that can easily bleed over into your everyday life.

2.) Equating Personal Worth to Income

Your worth, your beauty, and your personality are not directly correlated to the money you earn. If you are not getting tipped the way you believe you should be this does not mean you are not beautiful or sexy.

Ensure you have a way to build yourself up when these thoughts arise (and they will). It’s normal to have days where you feel terrible and down about yourself, but this should not be based on your shift that day.

3.) Sex Burnout

Make sure to set limits for yourself and understand your sexual limitations before pressing go. When you first start, it is overwhelming to engage with users. There are so many different requests you may not have ever thought of doing! You are NEVER required to do anything you are not comfortable with.

If you’re looking to explore your own sexual kinks and fetishes, make sure you take things in stride. Diving in and having a negative experience can forever change the way you view a certain sexual act. Don’t allow the overstimulation of these requests to burn you out in regard to your own desires.

4.) Feeding the Trolls

Do not involve yourself in other cam performers and user drama. If someone is in your room attempting to ruin your day, responding negatively will only feed that. Blocking users in your room is the best tool to eliminate trolls.

When dealing with other cam performers who come into your room trying to drive traffic away, do the same. It’s only emotionally and physically draining to engage with those who don’t truly care about you or your well being.
