Looking to get things rolling? Check out these positions to induce labor!

Alright, I wrote a blog with potentially helpful positions to get pregnant in but what about one with positions to help start labor? I have a few HEAVILY preggo friends that are ready to serve their babies eviction notices so maybe one…or more…of these will help you.

DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a doctor, do not claim to be. These are simply suggestions for folks with normal and low risk pregnancies. Please keep that in mind. ALWAYS consult with your OBGYN and make sure intercourse is safe with your pregnancy. Remember, everyone is different and what worked for your next door neighbor salle-mae, it may not work for you.

Five positions that may help start your labor:

1.) Cowgirl

Yes, that’s right. Get on top and ride him! This position gives you (The woman) complete control over how deep your partner can enter you as well as the pace. This position also won’t put extra strain on your stomach. Reverse cowgirl: This has pretty much the same effect as cowgirl but there’s extra stimulation added to the clit so it might help with a faster or more intense orgasm. (The orgasm is what helps get the uterine contractions started.)

2.) Spooning or side by side

Both partners are laying on their side and the male enters her from behind. The penis won’t be able to get in as deep but it will help take some strain off her back and uterus. This is one of the most popular positions to induce labor.

3.) Doggy style

Oh yes, good old doggy style. Though it’s suggested being either on all fours, leaning against the edge of the couch, or a chair.

Non-intercourse positions:

4.) Hovering butterfly

This is basically sitting on your partner’s face and letting him lick you to an orgasm! It’s suggested having something to brace yourself on, headboard/wall/whatever.

5.) Masturbation

This isn’t so much a position but masturbation is suggested to potentially help start labor.
